I’m the designer and co-founder of Deskfruit. Deskfruit is a platform that pairs real-world sculptural creations with the splendor of augmented reality. The Deskfruit object serves as a tracking device for augmented reality scenes. Deskfruit aims to activate office spaces and desks as a playground for adults and children. I wanted to make users feel like a child again, all while sitting at a desk job. The Deskfruit object is a playful looking half-wooden-sphere with a tracking pattern on top. When you look at the object through the Deskfruit app, the object comes to life.
I usually maintain and design digital assets in Illustrator. I’ll design icons and other UI elements in vector and export to either Adobe XD or Proto.io to prototype and compose screens.
I’ve been using AdobeXD to design screens and configure basic user flow and interaction. For more complex interactions I will use Proto.io.
I use After Effects to create animations for both prototyping and branding.
I do 3D modeling in Maya and rendering for both product mockups and game assets. I really love using the Arnold renderer for product mockups.
Deskfruit is built using the Unity Game Engine. The AR functionality is made possible by Vuforia and I write C# scripts for the games, like this basketball shooter.
